Unknown maker to this very unusual designed lantern 
Technically a dead flame but uses a tubular hotblast globe.
Commonly used these globes in the economy flip cap or screw cap era of lanterns in the 1880s .
These were made to compete against the newer tubulars at low cost.

Lantern features a No.1 brass Callendar burner hallmarked Hayden , Booth, & Holmes Waterbury , CT on the thumbwheel.
Tilt back design with unique cone over globe plate .

Condition  - very good , with light surface rust,  nice  patina over smooth tin.
No heavy rusting or pitting present. 
Perfect tinned bottom .

Tilt and latch operates smoothly. 

No visible condition issues present.
