P.J. Clark patent from the S S. Clark Mfg. Meriden, CT July 13th 1869 on the lid Clark's Patent February 17th 1863 on the sliding burner access door. This is a unique dead flame lantern using a 6 1/4 tubular globe. Locks in with turning the 3 tabs in the chimney into place. Condition is very good for its age Clean smooth tin, no heavy rusting or pitting present. Does appear to have an early solder tightening repair to the skirt. No visible condition issues with the tin. Nice piece , shelf ready. ** has not been oil tested **
