F.O. Dewey was a large mill supplier out of Boston, Massachusetts.
Company was in since and atleast from 1860-1920s
Most likely this piece was made for them to supply , just like all of thier other brass tagged lanterns.

This safety lamp can be used on desktop or inserted into a hanging tin shaded lamp , used in mills and shops .

The glass fount is locked in place snuggly but does pull out .
Unique burner opens and closes a shutter for the wick.

Condition - excellent,  original bright clean paint still , with some crackling and patina.
Glass fount is in good condition with no cracks.


Great piece to display with your Dewey mill lantern collection.
