Made by Edward Miller Company of Meriden, CT. Design patent is by J.J. Marcy 1870s economy lantern made to compete with the prices of the New popular tubular lanterns . Screw cap holds the globe tight and slides in a grooved track on the cap. Sangster fount with a brass ( New replaced ) No.1 whale oil burner. Featuresa unique back reflector shield , may or may not be factory , but for sure has been on the frame a long time. Condition - very good , barn fresh condition, never restored. Sangster clips are tight, top cap bolt threads smoothly . Globe does have a chip missing from the lower lip ( but is no noticeable in the frame). Tin is smooth , no heavy rusting or pitting. No visible working condition issues. ** has not been oil tested **
