Dietz No.2 Mill lantern 1905 - ? 
This is an early slide off cage version, using a staple flip TIN  cone, No.1 TIN burner 
Brass 9/16 fuel cap.
Cage slides on an locks in place on one side with a brass push pin located on the upper right tube.
Cage is also lockable at the bottom to the globe plate , to prevent acess to the flame from workers during use.

Dietz 98 0 tubular globe with swirls and blemishes. 

No.3 in gold paint located on the Cage band portion indicates it was most likely used for a fire department.
A low income or on a budget company or volunteer department.
For those fire departments that couldn't afford the expense of the more traditional Fireman model lanterns.

Condition  - excellent,  really nice patina on this one , tin bottom a rusty dark brown but has no signs of issues .
No working condition issues, burner, cap is free and working.
One tiny pointed out skirt split.

Shelf ready condition!
